Y’all know I had to come through with the review of McDonald’s new crispy chicken sandwich! They out here trying to compete with Popeyes, Chick-fil-A, and all the other fast food places with their own take on the crispy chicken sandwich game. So, of course, I had to see what the hype was all about.
New Crispy Chicken Sandwich!
First up, let’s talk about the bread. It’s soft, it’s fluffy, and it’s got a nice buttery flavor. I was feeling it, y’all.

Now, the chicken. I gotta be honest, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right. It’s not too spicy or too bland, it’s just right. I’m not even gonna front, I went back for seconds.
Early Access To Their New Crispy Chicken Sandwich
Now, the sauce. There are three options: regular, spicy, and deluxe. I went for the spicy option because I like a little kick. It’s not too spicy, but it’s got a nice little heat to it. The sauce definitely elevates the sandwich, but it’s not overpowering.

Overall, I think McDonald’s did a pretty good job with their crispy chicken sandwich. It’s not necessarily better than some of the other fast food spots, but it’s a solid option. If you’re in the mood for a crispy chicken sandwich and don’t want to wait in a long drive-thru line, McDonald’s new sandwich is definitely worth checking out.
New Crispy Chicken Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 chicken breast
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1-2 cups vegetable oil
- 1 brioche bun
- 1 tbsp butter, softened
- 2 pickle slices
- 1 tbsp mayo
- 1 tsp hot sauce
Instructions:
- Preheat oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 375°F.
- Season chicken breast with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together egg and a splash of water.
- In another bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Dredge chicken in flour mixture, then shake off excess.
- Dip chicken in egg mixture, then dredge in flour mixture again.
- Carefully place chicken in hot oil and fry for 8-10 minutes, until crispy and cooked through.
- Remove chicken from oil and let cool on a wire rack for a few minutes.
- While chicken is cooling, toast brioche bun in a pan with butter.
- Spread mayo and hot sauce on the bottom bun, then top with pickle slices.
- Add chicken to the bun, then top with a little more mayo and hot sauce.
- Top with the other half of the bun, and enjoy!
